TOCO TOUCAN/ GIANT TOUCAN
Toco Toucan is mostly found throughout a large part of central and eastern South AmericaTo manage their body temperature, these creatures sleep on their beak to conserve heat. There is a constellation named after this wonderful bird, called Tucana.




GREY CROWN CRANE


          
     The Grey crowned crane is mostly found in Greenland, in  areas of cultivation.
     The Grey crowned crane, being Uganda’s national bird, is featured on the country’s coat of arms and flag.      
     This bird is a sacred symbol for Kenya, Namibia, Zambia and South Africa.





   

Crane has a crown of stiff golden feathers.
Many people have the belief that these cranes can bring rain, so they include pictures of cranes in their rituals to encourage the rainy season to come.







PLAIN TIGER BUTTERFLY
Plain tiger, is a medium-sized butterfly  widespread in Asia, Australia and Africa.
The plain tiger is believed to be one of the first butterflies depicted in art. A 3500-year-old ancient Egyptian fresco in luxor features the oldest known illustration of this species.


WOOD DUCK/ CAROLINA DUCK

The Carolina or American wood duck is mostly found in North America and nests in hollow trees.
All ducks have highly waterproof feathers due to the feathers interlocking nature and waxy coating. 


Ducks have many economic uses. Their feathers, particularly their underlying 'down' feathers, are used in many products.












SCARLET IBIS

The Scarlet Ibis is a resident of South America & some of the Caribbean islands. It is the national bird of Trinidad & Tobago.

Their red colour is unlike any other shorebird in the world. The scarlet Ibis has a curved, slender bill that they use to probe into shallow water, mud or grass when foraging.
