Raag Kedar comes from the Kalyan Thaat.
The Jaati of this raag is Udav-Sharav. In this raag both, the shuddha and the teevra Madhyams are used. However, the shuddha madhyam is considered more important.
Raag Kedar sounds similar to Raags Hamir and Chayanat.
This piece begins with a brief introductory Aalap in raag Kedar and is followed by a Drut Teentaal based bandish that consists of a few taans,bol-taans and a bol-baat.
