• Raag Jaunpuri  belongs to the Asavari Thaat
• It is a Shaarav-Sampurna Jaati raag ( 6 notes in the Aarohan and 7 notes in the Avrohan)
• The Gandhar is absent in the Aarohan 
• The Gandhar and Dhaivat are Komal in this Raag. 

The piece begins with a short introductory Aalap in raag Jaunpuri followed by a Drut Teentaal Bandish. In the Bandish, Taal Badhya Aalap Vistar, Sargam Taans , Bol Taans and Bol Baats have been demonstrated. As a whole, Jaunpuri is known to be a "Chanchal" and happy Raag in which the Mandra and Taar saptaks are explored more than the Kharaj or lower notes.
