Chakras

Everything in this universe is made up of energy. So, human is also no exception. Here today we are going to talk about Chakra energy in man’s body. The Sanskrit word Chakra means wheel.

Each chakra has specific physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and energetic characteristic. Chakras are centers of energy, located on the midline of the body. The chakras located on lower part of our body are our instinctual side and highest ones are our mental side. They all contribute to our being. Each chakra vibrates at its unique frequency. Over or under active chakras gives you different personality traits, Chakras influence all aspects of life.

Chakra energy spins in a clockwise direction, as it moves the energy of our body out into the field around us called Aura. When it rotates in anticlockwise rotation, it takes energy from outer world through your auric layers to chakras and then into whole body. This energy exchange gives you psychic sense of surroundings. Flow of this energy is directly affected by your thoughts, emotions, health and state of mind.

Chakras are not made up of matter so we will not find actual little spinning wheels in our body. Each chakra is associated with a different set of organs and systems, endocrine gland and particular group of nerves. Blocked energy in our seven chakras can often lead to illness, so we have to keep our chakras balanced.

In all there are SEVEN chakras in body.

ROOT / BASE chakra

Chakra name:- Root/Base chakra(Mooladhara)

Location:-  the base of coccyx

Colour: Red

Element:- Earth

Endocrine gland:- adrenal gland

Body systems an organs:- Excretory system (urine and stool)

Kidneys, excretory system, skeletal system, urinary bladder, legs, knees, feet, all joints in the body, lower back, tail bone, teeth, weight loss, cramps in calf muscles

This chakra brings support and protection to roots of body system and to the whole subtle system. Emotional dysfunction, stress, anxiousness and restlessness.  As it is associated with adrenal gland which manufacture stress hormone cortisol.

Emotions Associated: Determination, security, survival energy, physical energy, kundalini jagran, and stability, power to hold, vitality, courage, grounding, support, individuality, and memories of past, physicality (including sexuality) materialism and dominance.

Sacral Chakra

Chakra name:- sacral (swadhisthan)

Location:- two fingers below navel

Colour:- orange

Element:- water

Endocrine gland:- gonads gland

System:- reproductive system

Grah:- venus(shukar)

Body system and organ:-

Reproductive organs(ovaries,testicles, uterus), large Intestine, Small fallopian tubes in female, infertility, urinary terminal imbalance, menopause,uterus related issues.

Emotions Associated:- pleasure relationship sexuality peace(mind body soul and life), sociability, feeling the inner and Outer worlds, being ruled emotion, dependency action

                         Solar plexus Chakra(manipur) only

Chakra name:- solar plexus(manipur)

Location:- IPhone 4 finger above of Navel

Colour:- yellow

Element:- fire

Endocrine gland:- pancreas gland

System:- digestive system

Grah:- jupiter(brihaspati/ guru)

Body systems and organ:- stomach, spleen, gall bladder, liver, all digestive disorders gas acidity loss of appetite cholesterol uric acid

Emotions Associated:- wisdom, action, self concept, self interest self expression, personal power comes from this Chakra, confusion over which direction to go low self esteem, self empowerment, integrity, self respect, balance between intuition and intellect, craving for Fame,, status, name, power, control, high ambitions and aggressiveness

Heart Chakra

Chakra name :- heart(anahat)

Location:- centre of the heart

Colour:- Green

Element:- air or wind

Endocrine gland:- thymus gland

Systems:-  respiratory and circulatory system

Grah:- mercury(Budh)

Body systems and organ:- heart, circulatory system, lungs, hands, arms ,ribs, bones blood circulation, high BP, low BP, asthma, respiratory disorders and oxygen supply in the whole body, numbness

Emotions Associated:- Compassion, expression  of love , unconditional love, confidence difficulty in breathing forgiveness acceptance peaceful way of being, relationship, stage fear, expression in communication . This Chakra gives a sense of security.

Throat Chakra

Chakra name:- throat(vishuddhi, vishuddha)

Location:- centre of the throat

Colour:- light blue

Element:- space(ether)

Endocrine gland:- thyroid and parathyroid gland

Systems:- lymphatic system

Grah:- mars(mangal)

 Body system and organ:- whole throat area, vocal system, food pipe, windpipe, pharynx oesophagus, tonsils,phlegm in throat, pharyngal and bronchial

Emotions Associated:- inflammation in vocal cord, expression of creativity via thought, speech,  writing, giving best performance, communication skills weather its verbal or nonverbal, external are internal. If this Chakra is out of balance you may want to hold back, feel weak, can't express your thoughts emotions, feelings. When this Chakra is balanced, you may feel balanced centre, physically or artistically inspired, you may be a good speaker.

Third eye chakra

Chakra name:- third eye(aagya, anjana, sixth Sense)

Location:- centre of the brow(between the eyebrows)

Colour:- indigo

Element:- space(ether)

Endocrine gland:- pitutary gland

Systems - autonomic nervous system

Grah:- moon(chandrama, rahu- ketu)

Body systems and organ:- five senses(sight, smell, touch, hear and Taste) , hypothalamus nervous system, memory intelligence, hormonal problems in the body

Emotions Associated:- imagination, visualisation, conceptual awareness, vision, intuition, psychic abilities related to clairvoyance and clairaudience especially, connection to wisdom insight, motivation for inspiration and creativity , the state of thoughtless awareness

Crown Chakra

Chakra name:- crown(sahastra)

Location:- centre and top of the head

Colour:- violet

Element:- space(ether)

Endocrine gland:- pineal gland

Systems:- cerebro spinal nervous system

Grah:- sun(surya)

Body system and organ:- brain related disorders, skin disorder, nervous system related issues, pineal gland

Emotions Associated:- flexibility in living life and living a non-resistance life. It is the centre of spirituality livemint, dynamic thought and energy, consciousness, awareness of higher consciousness get wisdom and truth of what is  sacred, fun with formulas, realisation, liberation from limiting patterns, bliss, present. This Chakra allows access to the uppermost clarity and enlightened wisdom
